The bespoke logotype based on the font Fritz Quadrata mirrors the angle and curved fingers on the N shaped hand logo. The hand imagery relates to Nehemiah rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem with his own hands, and is an evolution of the existing symbol.

In creating the new identity we wanted to put across an unpretentious simplicity and the local familiarity that comes with being called by a Christian name. Some illustrations hanging on the wall of their office led the signage solution, a ‘see-through’ wrought iron caricature style hanging sign. The new logo was based on the obvious requirement of explaining who the ‘e’, ‘b’ and ‘w’ in the company name, actually are. Our solution links the ship into the main Delaforce logotype and introduces a new emphasis on the name of George Delaforce, forgotten in the previous labels. His signature now becomes a distinctive embossing on every bottle, so as to create a powerful token of brand heritage.

The brochure we created for him is just a single sheet, decorated with images in an informal scrapbook style and written and signed as a personal message from the client. What was conceived as a cost-effective solution for the initial launching of the venture is, after some years of very successful business, still the brochure that the hotel uses.

Project:Chivas GlenlivetClient:Chivas BrothersOne of the jewels in the Chivas Brothers Scotch whisky portfolio is The Glenlivet and its famous distillery, the first Highland distillery to be granted a licence in 1824. So for the event that marked the completion of renovations, we designed this press pack based on the local newspaper as it might have appeared on the historic date, with appropriate news articles written in the style of the time. We carried the period theme through into handwritten invitations, menus, etc for the celebration event.

Project:Chivas Royal SaluteClient:Chivas BrothersLavish production was the order of the day for the customer education kit that was the key tool for the launch of Royal Salute 100 Cask Selection. The product education kit was in effect a packaging exercise in its own right, cased in a blue cube box that reflects the affluent spirit of the blue product flagon. The box contains five aged whisky samples, tasting mat and tasting note card, plus a brochure designed around lavish photography and minimal text printed in gold.

Project:Marston Vale exhibitionClient:Marston Vale Country ParkMarston Vale Country Park is a 250 hectare area of conserved woodland, wetlands and grasslands. Focal point of the park is the Marston Vale Forest Centre with an exhibition that explains how animal and plant life is being introduced to the area after years of industrial mistreatment. Miller designed all of the graphic elements within the exhibition. As well as, all supporting literature, exterior signage and press advertising.

Project:Waterhouse bookClient:WaterhouseAn uncompromising 88-page hardback production, presenting the credentials of long-time Docklands developer Andrew Wadsworth and his current business vehicle Waterhouse, in support of development proposals for the town of Dorchester.
